Dimethipin
Health Effects
EPA's Integrated Risk Information System classifies Dimethipin as: C; possible human carcinogen. EPA's stated basis: "Classification is based on an elevated combined incidence of pulmonary adenomas/carcinomas in male, but not in female, CD-1 mice. A rat study is undergoing further evaluation." EPA has not set a federal drinking-water limit (MCL or MCLG) for Dimethipin; IRIS assesses a chemical's toxicity, not the amount permitted in tap water.
