To protect water resources in the River Severn, following a drought order by the Environment Agency, Bristol Water is implementing a Temporary Use Ban, also known as a hosepipe ban. This applies across its entire service area. The prolonged dry weather, low river levels, significantly below average rainfall and high demand, continues to place increasing pressure on both water supplies for people and the health of river systems and wildlife habitats. In these circumstances, it is important for Bristol Water to carefully assess what measures are necessary and proportionate to maintain a resilient and secure water supply for customers.
