Where fluoridation schemes operate

Government guidance names these regions as having fluoridation schemes. A scheme covers part of a region, not every address in it.

  • Parts of the North East (including Newcastle upon Tyne)
  • Parts of the North West (including Workington and Crewe)
  • Parts of the East Midlands (including Scunthorpe and Lincoln)
  • Parts of the West Midlands (including Birmingham)

The government's North East consultation names the existing scheme areas there as parts of County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Shields, Wallsend and Whitley Bay.

What this page does not cover

The national figure above covers England. We have no postcode-to-scheme lookup for the UK, including Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

We do not show a fluoride level for any area: these sources say where schemes operate, not how much fluoride your tap water contains.
