Privacy Policy

Overview

Waterd is a hydration tracking app built with a privacy-first architecture. All personal data stays on your device. We do not operate user accounts, cloud databases, or remote data storage.

Data Stored on Your Device

• Health data — Weight, activity level, and water intake. Stored locally via Apple HealthKit and SwiftData. Never uploaded to any server.
• Hydration logs — Drink timestamps, vessel types, and daily records. Stored entirely on your device.
• Preferences — Daily goal, reminder settings, display unit. Stored locally.

On-Device AI

All Apple Intelligence features (AI-adjusted daily goals, weekly hydration insights, personalized notification messages) run entirely on-device via Apple's Foundation Models framework. No health data, hydration data, or personal information is sent to any cloud AI service. Zero inference cost, zero data transmission.

Location Data

When you choose to share your location, your ZIP code is sent to the TapWaterData API solely to retrieve local water quality data. GPS coordinates are used on-device only for weather-adjusted hydration goals via Apple WeatherKit. We do not store your location on our servers.

Third-Party Services

• Apple HealthKit — Reads weight and activity data; writes water intake. Data stays within Apple's Health ecosystem.
• RevenueCat — Manages subscription purchases. Processes App Store transaction data only. No health or location data is shared.
• TelemetryDeck — Privacy-first analytics. No personally identifiable information collected. No IP addresses stored. No cross-app tracking.
• Apple WeatherKit — Provides weather data for hydration goal adjustment. Standard Apple API.

What We Do NOT Collect

• No user accounts or email addresses
• No cloud sync of health or hydration data
• No advertising identifiers or ad tracking
• No sale of personal data to third parties
• No cross-app or cross-site tracking

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, deleting the Waterd app removes all data permanently. HealthKit data is managed separately through Apple's Health app. Subscription status is managed through your Apple ID account settings.

Children's Privacy

Waterd is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

GDPR and CCPA

Our privacy-first architecture (local-only storage, no user accounts, no cloud sync, no advertising tracking) is compliant with GDPR and CCPA by design.
